Dan,
I have taken to bringing up what I do, no matter where I am. In one instance I was in the fitting room of a clothing store. Another woman commented on how the good fit of the skirt I was trying on and asked where I was planning on wearing it.
“To meet with clients,” was my response. To which she naturally asked what I do and on it went from there. I’ll be meeting with her father in a couple of weeks to start the interviewing process.
